Taylor and I met in college while working at the same local boutique. We instantly hit it off and have stayed in touch ever since. I remember sitting in the break room while Tay told me all about this cute Army guy she met in Aggieville that past weekend. I always said 'say hey to Kirk' while she was on the phone with him, but since he lived in Georgia I never saw the two together. Fast-forward a few years to when I receive an email from Kirk inquiring about a surprise proposal for Taylor. OF COURSE I said yes! I was so excited for them! She was SO surprised to be getting engaged, and almost as surprised to see me hiding in the bushes. Fast-forward some more to when Tay and Kirk set a date and asked me to be their photographer. Again OF COURSE! Their engagement session was on a perfect fall day in Manhattan, Kansas.
After photographing them on these two awesome days, I was incredibly excited to see what they had in store for their wedding. I had no idea what was in store for me. On a gorgeous summer day, I arrived at Taylor's parent's house to photograph the ladies getting ready. OH MY HER DRESS. I was blown away by Tay's Hayley Paige gown. It was perfectly her. The bridesmaids chose beautiful dresses in shades of rose gold and mint. The men were in dapper black suits that were complimentary. The rest of the day flowed so smoothly. From the emotional first look, to fun portraits, to the meaningful ceremony and awesome party bus, everything went according to plan thanks to the incredible planner, Abby Wempe of Along Came Abby. At the reception, Taylor's dad's band played some lively tunes for the guests to dance to before the sparkler grand exit.
